Jean-Marc Bureau

was born in Paris in 1963.
He is an autodidact in drawing, painting, piano and photography.

He depicts himself as a “rounded square”, by reference to his scientific education put back to back to his trumendous creative and emotional thirst.

He started reflecting his impressions in drawings at the age of 15, and came to photography in 2005 as an amateur, in parallel to his full time job in the financial software industry. Sketches and Drawings in this gallery.

His natural empathy to his environment helps him a lot identifying and capturing specific moods, atmospheres, funny alignments, lights or any other components that make memorable photographies.

His street shots project implies that he always carry one camera with him, either digital or Holga. He considers his street B&W photographies as sketches, whereby people, environment and the photograph are interacting with each other at the same point in time, and then vanish as suddenly as they started interacting in the frame.

His approach of digital photography is that post-processing requires quite similar skills and appetance for actual drawing when it comes to B&Ws, or painting when it comes to colour prints.

His present motivation is basically to share photographical experiences so far as well as to continue meeting with other photographers.
His future motivations are to continue exploring creative paths, and is willing to publish his works at the same time.

He is also interested in exchanging high quality print outs with other serious amateurs, as well as to sell print outs upon specific request Get in touch here.
